Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using LicenseGuard ("the Service") at licenseguardapp.com, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
These Terms are an electronic record under the IT Act 2000 and do not require a physical signature to be binding.
2. Description of Service
LicenseGuard is a subscription-based SaaS tool that helps contractors track expiry dates for licenses, insurance certificates, bonds, and certifications. The Service sends automated email alerts before expiry dates to help users avoid lapses.
LicenseGuard is a reminder tool only. We do not verify, renew, or guarantee the validity of any license or insurance document. Users remain solely responsible for renewing their documents on time.
3. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
- You are responsible for all activity under your account
- One person may not maintain multiple free accounts to circumvent plan limits
4. Subscription and Payment
- Free plan: Up to 3 documents, dashboard access only — no email alerts
- Solo plan ($8/month): Unlimited documents and full email alert service
- Payments are processed by Dodo Payments. By subscribing you also agree to Dodo Payments' terms of service
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled
- Prices are in USD. Any applicable taxes (including GST where applicable) are the user's responsibility
- You may cancel at any time. Access continues until the end of the current billing period
- Refunds are handled per our Refund Policy
5. User Obligations
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose under Indian law or any applicable law
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
- Transmit any harmful, offensive, or disruptive content through the Service
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without written permission
- Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the Service
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity
6. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, and branding on LicenseGuard is the intellectual property of LicenseGuard and is protected under applicable Indian and international IP laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without prior written consent.
Your document data remains your own. We claim no ownership over the data you enter into the Service.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee:
- That the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure
- That email alerts will always be delivered on time or at all (due to spam filters, email provider issues, or other factors outside our control)
- That the Service will meet your specific requirements
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Indian law, LicenseGuard and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from:
- Your use of or inability to use the Service
- Any expired licenses, lapsed insurance, failed permits, or business losses resulting from missed renewals
- Delayed or undelivered email alerts
- Unauthorised access to your account
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the total amount paid by you to LicenseGuard in the 3 months preceding the claim.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LicenseGuard and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law.
10. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. We comply with the IT Act 2000, SPDI Rules 2011, and the DPDPA 2023.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms, without refund. You may delete your account at any time by contacting . Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days.
11A. Refund Policy
We want you to be satisfied with LicenseGuard. Our full refund policy is available at refund.html. In summary:
- No refunds for partial months: Subscription fees are non-refundable once a billing period has started. You retain full access until the end of your paid period.
- 7-day goodwill refund: If you are a new subscriber and the core service (email alerts) did not work at all during your first 7 days despite contacting our support team, we will issue a full refund of your first payment upon verification.
- Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future charges immediately. No further payments will be taken after cancellation.
- Duplicate charges: If you were charged more than once due to a technical error, we will refund the duplicate charge in full within 7 business days.
- How to request a refund: Email with your registered email address and reason. We will respond within 3 business days.
Refunds, where applicable, will be processed back to your original payment method via Dodo Payments within 7–10 business days.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, including the Indian Contract Act 1872 and the Information Technology Act 2000. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of competent courts in India.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and LicenseGuard and supersede all prior communications, agreements, and understandings.
